Introduction to NRL .22 Rifle Competition – Open to Members and the Public

Club Members and Public and the Public. Roughly an hour of Classroom followed by Range Time and First Shots on small steel at between 35 & 100 yds prone and on props.

  1. Welcome & Introductions
  2. Lunch
  3. Safety Briefing and Release Forms (If not already signed by a Member)
  4. What is NRL and why is it growing so fast, so much fun and economical to shoot – and a valuable training opportunity
  5. What do I need to Participate (Any Safe .22 Rifle and Ammunition)
  6. Rifle Classes and Times
  7. How Competitions are run and what are the formats and round count
  8. What about Practicing?
  9. Basics of Competition Flow
  10. Basics of Wind & and Positional shooting
  11. Let’s learn how to do a 4 shot zero @50 and calculate scope or iron sight adjustments or holds for various courses of fire.
  12. What should I bring?  If you have a safe rifle with safe ammunition bring it – if it is unsuitable, we’ll have rifles you can try. Also don’t forget Safety Glasses and Ear Protection (Suppressors are welcome)
  13. Range Time and 3 Stages to get the feel for how NRL .22 & NRL 22X work
  14. Question & Answer Period

There will be plenty of highly skilled shooters and coaches to help you begin your journey in this fun and affordable.
