DESCRIPTION:Open Practice at 600 Yds \nFEE: $15 – To support ongoing range operations \nAs ALWAYS keep an eye on the weather and the Rifle Calendar for cancellations. \nShooting this time of year depends on the weather\, serious weather such as moderate to heavy snow or ice storms will likely cause these to be cancelled so keep an Eye to the Sky and the Calendar! There is automatically a weather date – the next day.  Committee Members help out when they can after any storms to keep the Pit area and the 500 yard line clean down to the grass\, and of course NEW CLUB MEMBERS wanting hours are encouraged to lend a hand. \nOpen Rifle Practice will be pair fire (optional) or individual fire at @500yds. 10:00 AM Setup – Round Count is your choice.  We expect some impromptu fun mini-matches and some challenge fun Matches. Still for non-competition shooters we’ll help you through it. This event is Open to the Public but only for rifles suitable for 500yd accurate shooting.. \nPair Firing will be configured if attendance and interest dictates. \nFrom Mid-Nov till to April muzzle brakes are allowed – Silencers are welcome – bring them if you have them. \nWe have a very skilled group of shooters\, Some are State and Regional Champions\, experienced Wind Coaches\, National and International Competitors who\, while there to practice\, are more importantly ready to provide knowledge\, experience and coaching to build your shooting skills or to help any shooter who would like any kind of assistance. \nThis is a good opportunity for Club Members who wish to be vetted to do so with highly qualified support. \nThis is a great opportunity for new members or prospective members interested in Rifle to get acquainted with Mid Range shooting and also accomplish 500/600yd Range qualification. \nIf you are not vetted for 500/600 range use\, but wish to be\, you should be prepared as follows: \n\nBring the specific rifle(s) for which you wish to be vetted.\nHave a 100-yd or 200-yd zero already set on that rifle.\nKnow how to make informed elevation adjustments on the attached scope.\nHave elevation tables for the specific ammunition you will be using (if using handload\, an equivalent factory table is recommended).\nHave a stable front and rear rest for use at these yardages (sling shooters should be equally prepared).\nHave a shooting mat\, tarp or other ground covering.\nPer safety rules at all ranges\, have ear an eye protection\, and an empty chamber indicator.\n\nKnowledge of the electronic targeting system and target setup is not required.  You should plan to arrive at the designated setup time\, inform the event coordinator that you wish to be vetted and be prepared assist with target setup.  A smart phone or tablet is recommended.  If you do not have one\, please inform that event coordinator when you arrive so we can provide you a loaner. \nIf you have any questions about being prepared for vetting\, please send your inquiry to the committee email address: sfga.rifle@gmail.com \nBring a friend or guest (don’t forget to have them sign their release). SUMMARY:24th  Annual Battle of the Bulge Match - The End of "Watch on the Rhine"
DESCRIPTION:Match Program:\n\n24th Annual Battle of the Bulge Match – End of Watch on the Rhine\nTimothy Lamar Memorial Match\n\nAny rifle used in the Battle Preferred or Clone for a Match Award. All shooters are welcome and the event is open to the public.\n\nAny Safe Rifle and Ammunition will be allowed not to exceed 35 cal.\n\nParticipants must have a 100yd zero* and Empty Chamber Indicators are required (available for purchase)\n\nThe Fee is $20\n\nShelter Halls are available\, but shooting mats will be allowed for all shooters.\n\nSquadding begins @8:00 AM and closes at 9:00\n\nSafety Briefing @9AM and firing to begin shortly afterwards. Assistance in putting up and taking down the targets is as always greatly appreciated.\n\nTarget will be a B-26 Silhouette – Shooters will shoot on the same target and an aggregate score will be the total of all shots fired on the target.\n\nCourse of Fire:\n\n100yds 16 Rounds in 2 min\n200yds 16 Rounds in 3 min\n300yds 16 rounds in 4 min\n\n(100yd zero’s may be checked on the Utility 100 prior to the match – if this is required check in at 8:00 and proceeded to the Utility Range).\n\nTargets will be scored in the Main Clubhouse after shooting has finished and targets and range are put away.\n\nMatch Coordinators – Charlie Largay\, Greg Foster

DESCRIPTION:INCLEMENT WEATHER -Dependent\, serious weather such as moderate to heavy rain will likely cause these to be cancelled so keep an Eye to the Sky and the Calendar! \nThis Team Match will be pair fired at @600yds..10 AM to 3 PM Round Count 45 + 6 convertible sighters per shooter and Blow off Rounds – 15 min blow off for each team (all shooters). Everyone on the team will setup on two adjacent targets. \n3 x 15 Rounds for record each Team Members – Block Time of 25 min per pair\, but may change if we go with three to a mound and the number of shooters and a 10 min. break between strings. Coaching is of course allowed and pilot shots may be taken by any of the shooters not on record\, only two shooters will be on record at a time. \nIf things go smoothly the match should not take more than \n

If you are a regular shooter have solid zero’s for you rifles. Club Members\, Members in the Application Process and Guests can be provided assistance in sighting in their rifle and joining the others on the 600yd Range. \nAs always safety is paramount\, remember your Eyes and Ears as well as your empty chamber indicator.
